It's a girl!

Baby Shaha made her debut on film today. And boy did she put on a show! She was doing so many funny things. We decided that she likes cheese because I ate a cheese stick right before heading to the hospital. She and Gabe will get along well. :)

We also came to these conclusions:


#1 She's a looker! The ultrasound tech kept mentioning how "cute" she was.
#2 She will be an athlete. Look at that foot! That is a bee-yootiful arch. And she was moving around so much I think we interrupted a workout or something. She's probably on a Gatorade high all the time. Poor girl, she'll probably come out addicted to the stuff.


#3 She's a little camera shy. We assume this because she kept putting her hand over her face when the nurse was trying to take a picture.

It was amazing the things we could see- her kidneys, heart, brain, spine, fingers, toes, even her femur. I was in awe and Dave was geeking out! Everything is looking good and healthy. Mostly it was a relief for me to see that she was moving around. I had been getting a little worried lately that I hadn't felt any "movement" yet. There really is a little person in there!

State Hoop Shoot

Our hoop shooter, Gabe, took second place at the Nevada state hoop shoot competition on Saturday, February 5th. He tied for 2nd with another boy. So, there was a shoot off between the two boys with Gabe coming out the victor. It was a high pressure situation in a silent gym with all spectators' eyes on him. He did a great job and had a good time.

Pass the snow, please

Happy Groundhog Day! Punksatony Phil might not have made an appearance today had he lived in Iowa. We're all quarantined in our own houses. No school, no practice, no buses, no nothin. It's awesome. And it's about time! Last year our first big blizzard came in December. This year it has been such a mild winter that I wondered if something was in store. Well it was, and it's here.

This poor soul won't be going anywhere for quite some time.

And neither will we!

The worst part of the storm was the wind. The snow drifts are 4 and 5 feet in some places. Wayne the courageous.

I had to dig down to find the license plate.

Iowans are prepared. Snow shovels won't even get the job done. Everyone has one of those snow blower things (except us of course).

Regional Hoop Shoot Champion!

We traveled to Austin, Nevada to watch Gabe participate in the regional hoop shoot contest and he won his age group again! Our next stop on the hoop shoot tour, will be the state competition in Hawthorne on February 5th. He shot 19 out of 25 free throws.
