Oakley's big adventure

We had such a great time in Utah! Oakley was a champ on the plane and in the car and the three of us made it to Salt Lake and back to Iowa City all in one piece. Here's a smattering of pictures from the short, but awesome weekend.
Oakley's first plane ride. She's thrilled, as you can see.
Shaha + Harris
Great Grandma Harris. This picture is beautiful.
Great Aunt Jill and Great Grandma and Grandpa Guipre. So many greats! You guys are great!
Grandpa Harris! Yep, GRANDPA. :)
GRANDMA Harris :)
Uncle Gabe the babe
Uncle James. I think this is the only picture I got of her being awake. Way to go James.
Aunt Brita. This picture is so cute. Oakley is totally making a Dave face.
I love this picture of all the Shaha cousins. They'll get a kick out of it when they're older.

Utah Valley Marathon

Who has the most amazing parents in the whole world?

Oh yeah, that would be me. :)

Mom and Dad both ran the Utah Valley Marathon on June 11 and both rocked it. I'm so glad I got to be there to watch! My heart is still swollen with pride.

Gabe also ran the 5k and got a huge PR. What a stud.

Dad- 3:35

After the race, we got to spend some time with Brita at Aspen Grove where she works. It was beautiful! She gave us the full-fledged tour and we even got to watch the "Fireside show" with some hilarious skits. Poor Gabe couldn't find anyone to play basketball with between two sore parents, one pregnant sister, and another sister with a killer toothache. We missed you James!

Hazardous Nevada Highways!

On our way home from the track meet in Eureka, a mother deer (pregnant with 2 babies) leaped over 5 feet in the air hitting the school bus. Glass shattered inward hitting the bus driver and several rows of seats behind him. Thankfully, he was wearing glasses and was okay, but shaken. We were following the bus in our little car. We were also thankful that the deer didn't hit us because it would have taken us out. Unfortunately, the deer and her babies did not survive.

Arizona Spring Break!

I know, I'm a little late. But, better late than never, right? We had a great time spending a couple of days in warm Arizona. We visited the new Hoover Dam bridge, attended a Diamondbacks baseball game, and had a great time at the lake with our friends from Lund, the Hartmans.

Mother dear

Mom, I've been thinking of you all day. This morning I got out of the car to walk into church and I saw a lilac tree (with lilacs!) and I thought about you all during church and after and guess what? I'm still thinking of you! Ya know, I wouldn't have to think of you so much if I could just see you. But I do enjoy thinking of you. You are a very pleasant thing to think about. :)

Happy Mother's Day! Thank you for being so wonderful Mom! I'm grateful for you for so so many reasons. I love you.

Love, wendy
