choir concert

Our desert is blooming with wildflowers. Here is a picture Bill took of the orange globemallows between Lund and Preston.

My flower gardens are looking pretty good too. The columbines are beautiful.

One of our highlights this spring was attending Gabe's choir concert. Watching Gabe participate makes the worry of him on the road all year almost disappear. It was a real treat to see him enjoy activities he wouldn't have had in Lund this year.  It looks like things will be the same for next year. We now have a senior in the house!

mish mash

I haven't been very consistent lately with the blog so this is a catch up of a few things that have been happening the past few weeks. I just have to say that Wendy is my hero as far as consistent blogs go. I really enjoy reading hers every week so I will try to be more faithful.
We have had some late season snow storms. I don't mind them so much this time of year because I know the snow won't stick around for too long and it gives lots of moisture to the wildflowers. Even the lilacs didn't mind it so much.

We enjoyed a "birthday" trip for Brita to the Provo City temple Easter weekend. It was a cool, as in temperature and sights, trip to Provo. We enjoyed seeing family and our old stomping grounds. It was amazing how many changes the BYU campus has undergone since our days there and even the days of our two BYU graduates. One highlight was our visit to the new Monte Bean museum.

Bill and I even reminisced on the steps of our first apartment. (2nd floor)

I know this is out of order, but I was totally spoiled on my birthday this year. Holy Cow!!! So Bill gave me this awesome hydration pack for running and adventuring.
I received my favorite foods i.e. chocolate and lemon. Who needs anything else? Well, I got some awesome trail mix, rice, mangoes, and spices for good measure. Any time I get something from Trader Joes I feel special, it doesn't matter what it is.
I also received some pretty sweet cards $$$$ and sentiments.

I got an ancestry d.n.a kit that will tell me which countries I come from. This will take about 8 weeks and I will let you know the results when I get them. I am SO excited! I got an awesome movie and nail polish and the cutest Nevada pillow. I was always envious of the Iowa pillow :)

Brita is an amazing photographer and she gave me these totally professional looking note cards. I am sure she could start a photography business because these are gorgeous!

And I received some artwork from one of my favorite young artists, Oakley Shaha. Very beautiful!

Gabe has been busy with track, school, church, music, you name it. He is one busy young man. I count my lucky stars when I get to see him. Here he is receiving a hand off in the 4x1 at the White Pine track meet. This weekend he will compete in Regions in Boulder City.

Due to a cancelled Junior High track meet, we were able to make a quick trip to the new Payson temple to go the our niece Carrie's sealing. That is her in the middle with her husband Ryan and 3 kids. Everyone was there in their family but Will.

And here is prince Gabe. He thought he was all that until we put him in his place. No really, we reminded him of what is means to be a "real" prince as in good role models. Still, it was kind of funny that the new kid on the block was elected as prince.

We found a surprise in our back yard the other day. Sorry if this video doesn't work.
