Adventures in Oregonland

The drought is over and I am making the foray back into the online world after going through the 5 stages of mourning the death of a laptop. (Actually, I don't think it's dead, it's just sitting in a heap of parts in an empty box for the moment and maybe eternity). But, thanks to a suggestion from Dave, I am sitting here with our new nifty chrome book. So, what better way to celebrate than to resume my sketchy habit of blogging.

We braved the weather and ventured to Oregon for Christmas this year. I mean Bill braved the treacherous drive. It was a good place to meet since Brita is there and it is closer to an airport for Wendy and Dave. And, we also got to spend Christmas with Carol and see Dan and Susan, Ron and Deb, Will and Meghan, and Anna and Daniel.
Off on our grand adventure!

Having some fun in Burns

Picture James Bond skimming across this lake to his secret destination.

Guess who got lots of attention.
Does getting in at 2:00 am stop Wendy from going to the coast? Well, what do YOU think? Of course, we have to visit one of our favorite places, Devil's Elbow and Heceta Head Lighthouse.
One of several cute "grump" faces to come.

Cute little trooper
Little tyke, big ocean

Iconic spot
No trip to the coast is complete without Mo's

Plenty of extracurricular activities took place such as games of Pit, Uno, Catchphrase, etc. Winners and losers shall remain nameless.

The little mermaid

Splash is another stop on the Oregon trail. Oakley and Peter both tried the slide with Peter enjoying it and Oakley not so much.

Of course a highlight would be attending the Oregon vs. Western Oregon basketball game in which the Ducks dominated of course.

Sibling love
Everyone's always up for a hike, even in the fog. Two little troopers made it all the way to the top of Spencer's Butte, Peter motoring up and Oakley hiking down.
welcome home

Boom! I am so done with this blog. It started out fine, pictures were cooperating, brain was fresh, and then everything got jumbled and out of order. So, I hope you enjoy the pictures and hopefully 2 videos work. I hope to get better with practice. So until next time, "boom goes the dynamite".

Well isn't technology great - Ha! Good to hear you were able to get a replacement for your laptop. And, even though the post didn't set up properly, it sure is wonderful to see pictures and videos of you and your family and to read of your fun time all together in Oregon!
